The Head Golf Professional serves as the primary golf expert and ambassador for Cross Creek Golf & Country Club. This PGA Professional leads all golf operations, including instruction, player development, pro shop management, event coordination, and daily golf services. The role emphasizes high-quality member and guest experiences on the challenging yet accessible par-60 executive course, while supporting community leagues, tournaments, and overall club activities in a vibrant Southwest Florida setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Golf Instruction & Player Development — Provide private and group lessons, clinics, and junior/adult programs. Promote the game to members, residents, and guests of all skill levels. Develop and maintain a strong teaching reputation.
• Pro Shop Management — Oversee daily operations of the pro shop, including merchandising (apparel, equipment, accessories), inventory control, retail sales, and point-of-sale systems. Maximize revenue through effective merchandising and promotions.
• Daily Golf Operations — Manage tee sheet scheduling, starters, rangers, pace of play, cart fleet, practice areas, and course setup. Ensure smooth flow for member and public play (course open 7 days/week with seasonal hours).
• Events & Tournaments — Organize and conduct member tournaments, leagues (men’s/women’s), scrambles, outings, and special events. Coordinate with the clubhouse/restaurant for seamless execution.
• Member & Guest Relations — Deliver exceptional service, enforce golf rules and etiquette, and act as the face of the golf program. Build strong relationships within the community.
• Staff Supervision — Hire, train, schedule, and supervise pro shop attendants, starters, rangers, cart barn attendants. Foster a positive, professional team environment.
• Financial & Administrative Duties — Completes budget for golf operations, revenue tracking (greens fees, shop sales, lessons), reporting, and vendor relations. Monitor pro shop and operations performance.
• Compliance & Safety — Maintain USGA/PGA rules adherence, safety standards, and club policies. Coordinate with the golf course superintendent on course conditions and setup.
• Marketing & Promotion — Promote golf programs, lessons, and events to residents, members, and the local community to drive rounds and engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements
• PGA of America membership or current participation in the PGA Professional Development Program.
• Proven experience as a Head Golf Professional, Assistant Pro, or equivalent at a private club, executive course, or resort facility (prior Southwest Florida experience a plus).
• Strong teaching and playing ability, with demonstrated success in player development and lesson programs.
• Retail and operations management experience, including pro shop merchandising and inventory.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills suited to a friendly, active community club environment.
• Proficiency with golf management software (e.g., tee sheet systems), point-of-sale, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in a year-round golf climate with seasonal peaks.
• Valid driver’s license and subject to background check.
