The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our Golf Course Maintenance team as an Assistant Superintendent in Training. This role is designed to develop a well-rounded future leader in golf course management through hands-on experience and increasing responsibility.

The position provides exposure to all aspects of course maintenance, including turfgrass management, irrigation system operation and repair, and pesticide application. The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent and management team to develop technical skills, leadership ability, and decision-making confidence.

Responsibilities include daily course setup and maintenance, participation in irrigation troubleshooting and water management, involvement in chemical applications, and assisting with crew leadership and training. This position offers a clear path toward advancement into an Assistant Superintendent role.

The Golf Course is closed April 24 - October 31, 2026 for a renovation. Work entails building new greens with tifeagle bermudagrass, adding and laser leveling tees, drainage and irrigation improvements, landscape and naturalization areas, bunker upgrades, and wall to wall regrassing to celebration bermudagrass. The Assistant in Training will be heavily involved in the planning and execution of the renovation. 

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando is also the annual host of the PGA Tour's PNC Championship that features 20 major champions and their family members each December.

Primary Responsibilities:

-          Assist the golf course maintenance team in providing guests with the best possible playing conditions.

-          Assist in all aspects of daily course setup and management.

-          Be involved with operation of the Toro irrigation system.

-          Be precise and reliable with hand watering greens and other stressed areas.

-          Tournament preparation.

-          Be able to operate all equipment used on the golf course.

-          Lead and be responsible for aspects of verticutting, topdressing, aeration and other agronomic practices.

-          Responsible for training new employees in daily tasks as well as machine operation.

-          Assist the Spray Technicians with chemical and fertilizer applications and record keeping.

-         Assist the Irrigation Technician.

-          Work with leadership to maintain a culture that leads to daily, successful high standards.

-          Will have the opportunity to lead crews and projects.

Required Skills:

-         Working towards or has a degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.

-          Golf course maintenance experience.

-          Ability to obtain FL Pesticide Applicators License.

-          Prefer bi-lingual English and Spanish.

-          Willingness to learn.
