Position Summary: The Second Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendent to support daily golf course maintenance operations. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build hands-on experience and advance their career in turfgrass management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with daily maintenance tasks including mowing, course setup, irrigation, and bunker maintenance
Support chemical and fertilizer applications in accordance with agronomic plans
Help monitor turf conditions and report any issues to supervisors
Assist in irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs
Supervise crew members as needed and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
Operate and maintain golf course equipment safely
Participate in course improvement projects and special assignments
Report findings and recommendations on course conditions
Engage with members professionally
Qualifications:
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred (or currently pursuing)
