Job Purpose This position will create and manage golf development opportunities in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) with the goal of increasing participation among local residents with special emphasis on underrepresented groups and juniors. This individual will create and manage competitive golf opportunities within the CSRA community to stimulate interest in the game and player advancement. This position will also support the Tournament Headquarters staff with respect to the conduct of the Masters Tournament.
Essential Functions of the Job
Be a lead contributor in the Club’s efforts to affect the Community by creating and executing golf initiatives that influence local junior, high school and underrepresented group participation within the CSRA.
Actively supervise and provide direction to the management company running the Augusta Municipal Golf Course.
Working in conjunction with Augusta Tech and the First Tee of Augusta, create and execute intentional programming that introduces and retains interest in the game of golf.
Create and adhere to financial parameters set forth for the Community Golf Initiative including managing the facility budget and ensuring partner organizations are in good standing.
Provide recommendations for long-range planning projects including capital investments into Community Golf projects.
Liaise with other golf stakeholders in the CSRA area to improve the golfing environment in the Augusta area.
Foster relationships with high school athletic directors and administrators to ensure the health of publicly funded golf opportunities in local educational institutions.
Serve on the DCP Task Force to manage the day-to-day activities of domestic qualifying.
Evaluate and implement MTF work processes to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
Oversee sponsor activation at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course during the week of the Masters Tournament.
Work with other DCP leadership to recruit, train and acquire volunteers for the conduct of the DCP National Finals competition.
Recruit and train DCP qualifying site administrators throughout the year and at the annual PGA Merchandise Show.
Attend and assist in the administration of DCP Regional final qualifying.
Work with other THQ staff to organize all aspects of the onsite participant experience for the DCP National Finals.
Drive the strategy and development of elite golf programming within the local community by managing relationships with local collegiate programs including Paine College and Augusta University.
Create and maintain Community Golf documents and manuals in an effort to streamline and document event procedures in accordance with established guidelines.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Assist and support the Tournament Headquarters department with other general Masters Tournament activities as needed and based upon availability.
Provide additional support to the Tournament Headquarters staff by assisting with data research and special projects as determined by the Director of Golf Development.

Qualifications:
Ability to use financial analysis to generate strategic operational opportunities.
Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with accuracy and utilize effective judgment under the pressure, to include time sensitive deadlines.
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and confidently.
High attention for detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in the use of Google Maps or similar software.
Working knowledge of Windows-based computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Relative Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience required preferably in Business, Sports Management, or related field.
PGA or LPGA professional Class-A status is strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 plus years previous golf facility management preferred
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of and proficiency with the Rules of Golf and competition administration.
Required License(s):
Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program
Projected Work Schedule:
Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
