Hillwood Country Club is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Golf Course Superintendent to join our Agronomy Team. This position works directly under the Director of Agronomy and plays a critical role in maintaining the exceptional course conditions and standards expected by our membership.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Director of Agronomy in the daily management, maintenance, and conditioning of the golf course, practice facilities, and grounds. This role oversees the execution of agronomic programs, supervises staff, and ensures the golf course is presented at the highest level daily.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires early mornings, weekend rotations, and occasional holiday work. The position works closely with the Director of Agronomy to maintain elite course conditions while developing the agronomy team.
Assist the Director of Agronomy in planning and executing all golf course maintenance operations.
Supervise and lead the daily activities of the maintenance staff, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high standards of work.
Assist with scheduling and coordinating mowing, course setup, irrigation, and cultural practices.
Implement fertility, plant protectant, and plant growth regulator programs as directed.
Monitor turf health and course conditions, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
Assist with irrigation system management, including scheduling, repairs, and water conservation practices.
Ensure proper equipment use and communicate maintenance needs with the equipment manager.
Train and mentor team members while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Assist with tournament preparation and execution to deliver championship-level conditions.
Maintain accurate records of agronomic applications and maintenance practices.
