Capital City Club Brookhaven is searching for a driven and team oriented Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join a highly respected agronomy team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals early in their careers who want to be immersed in a culture of mentorship, hands-on learning, and upward mobility within a premier private club environment. With major capital projects recently completed and a full course renovation planned in the next five to six years, this is an exciting time to join the team and contribute meaningfully to the evolution of a storied property.
Club Highlights:
Total annual rounds: Average of 35,000
Total staff: 18 full-time (Nov-Feb), 28 full-time (Mar-Oct) not including management/technicians
Typical work schedule: Alternating weekend schedule with one 3-day weekend every other week.
Weekly hours range from 44-46 in cooler months to mid/upper 50s in summer.
Closed half day on Mondays to allow for focused project work.
Future projects: Ongoing drainage, stream bank work, and in-house projects
Irrigation system: Toro Osmac
Equipment: Predominantly John Deere, purchased (6 years old; fleet replaced every 7 years)

Initial Priorities of the Position:
Integrate into the team and understand the club's standards and expectations
Learn the layout and unique attributes of the property
Become familiar with course duties, golf operations, and departmental collaboration
Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:
Assist in daily maintenance planning, crew supervision, and training
Responsible for irrigation system repairs, maintenance, scheduling, and inventory
Assist with and execute fertilizer and pesticide applications, including calibration and record-keeping
Monitor and enforce safety procedures and Club policies
Maintain knowledge of equipment and turfgrass maintenance practices
Record and report weather, irrigation, and chemical application data
Serve as acting Assistant Superintendent in their absence
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Turfgrass Management or related field (preferred)
Minimum of one year experience on a golf course with bentgrass greens
Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization/pesticide applications, and golf course operations
Georgia pesticide license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Valid Georgia driver’s license
Understanding of golf and etiquette
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Willingness to present education and career goals annually
Compensation & Benefits:
$21.00 - $22.00+ per hour, depending on experience. Annual estimated compensation between $55,000 - $60,000 including OT
