Full-time position: Monday-Friday, some nights, and weekends/holidays. Benefits offered: Health, Dental. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Head Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's supervision, the assistant leads and directs all aspects of the maintenance of the golf course facility including golf course turf health, playability, and aesthetics. Assists withe the supervision of the maintenance of golf course equipment and irrigation system. Assists with and has responsibilities of hiring, firing, training and disciplinary documentation of staff. The assistant creates daily job assignments and supervises the crew while assisting in daily course inspection and monitoring. The assistant will be responsible for chemical and fertilizer application and documentation. The assistant may serve in the superintendent's capacity during his/her absence.
Bachelor's Degree in Turfgrass Management or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND 6-18 months golf course management experience.
Valid driver license.
Oklahoma pesticide applicator license required, or can obtain within 90 days from start of employment.
Must be able to stand, sit, bend, crawl, extensive walking, lift fifty pounds, work in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
