Links on the Bayou is a Mike Young designed property that opened in 2002. The golf course consists of tifeagle greens with tifway bermudagrass through out the property. Links on the Bayou is a City of Alexandria owned property and has been privately managed by M2 Mitton Management since it's inception. The course has been named "Louisiana's Best Municipal Golf Course" by Golf Digest and is a host site to college, professional tours, and state amateur events.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage daily maintenance and conditioning of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, practice areas, and all property grounds.
-Maintain TifEagle bermudagrass greens using best agronomic practices for health and playability.
-Plan and implement fertilization, pesticide, and cultural programs.
-Hire, train, and supervise maintenance team.
-Schedule and direct daily work assignments to ensure efficiency and safety
- Promote a positive team-oriented work environment focused on quality and pride in course presentation.
-Operate and maintain the irrigation system for efficient water management.
-Oversee operation and maintenance of mowers, sprayers, and all turf equipment.
-Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, chemical use, and water management.
-Manage annual maintenance budget in coordination with General Manager
-Forecast labor, material, and capital needs for short and long term planning.
-Maintain inventory and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
-Plan and oversee future golf course construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
-Work closely with management and golf professionals to support tournaments and events.
-Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations related to chemical applications and environmental practices.
Additonal Info:
John Deere Equipment on year one of a four year lease.
Rain Bird irrigation system in excellent operating condition.
Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in golf course maintenance and management
Strong leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of warm season grasses and maintenance practices
Licensed pesticide applicator or ability to obtain within 60 days
