Position Summary: Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment. Assists the Superintendent with planning and implementing budget and operating plans. Hires, trains and supervises staff. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping, horticultural principles to assure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing staff for all daily tasks including mowing, bunker maintenance, course set up
Being directly involve in chemical and fertilizer applications
Assist in managing capital project/course improvements
Daily scouting and diagnosing of any turf related issues
Assist in clubhouse and wedding garden landscape maintenance
Operation of the irrigation system and daily watering
Snow removal in the winter
Assist mechanic as needed in keeping maintenance equipment operable and safe
Minimum 3 years golf course or related field experience
Hold a degree in a related field or be working toward one
Have or be able to obtain a Colorado pesticide license
Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
Applewood is a public 18-hole course located in beautiful Golden, Colorado with a great view of the Table Mountains and the Rockies. It is owned by Prospect Park District and operated by KemperSports Management. It is a community favorite hosting 63,000 rounds in 2025. Applewood is an Audubon Cooperative Sanctury course.
