Total staff – Currently one Senior Assistant Super and one Assistant Super
Typical work week – Offseason (November 1 – March 31st) 40-44 hours; In Season (April 1-October 31st) 50 – 60 hours. One day off a week in season – two 3-day weekends off in-season (typically mid-June and mid-September). Weekends off during off-season.
Equipment - Mix of Jacobsen/Toro/John Deere; all mowing equipment is less than 3-years old

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:
Execution of daily maintenance practices of a top 100 facility including cultivation, water management, mowing and grooming practices, pest and fertility management, bunker maintenance and other attention to detail items.
Actively involved in daily scheduling and crew management with an emphasis on communication skills, leadership and cross-training.
Collaborates with other managers including Equipment Manager to ensure proper working conditions in the maintenance shop facilities and golf course.
Develop proper communication channels to check systems, processes and work activities for potential improvements.
Collects data and tracking information to present informed management decisions.
Engages in professional educational development including Golf Industry Show, leadership seminars, club presentations and grounds committee meetings.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary - $50,000-$60,000

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Typical weekly work hours - 42-60 hours
Prefer Certificate, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Prefer at least one year of experience on the golf course or athletic field, but willing to train someone with a passion for golf and interest in the golf course industry.
Demonstrated strong written, verbal, interpersonal & communication skills
Embraces daily use of technology and the ability to evolve with modern day practices
Excellent attitude with a bias towards action

Our facility stays committed to a stringent equipment preventive maintenance program, innovative practices and capital replacement to ensure the best overall product and facilities.
The Essex County Club was founded in 1893. The original Club House was completed the same year. At that time, the grounds included a full size polo field, two clay tennis courts, and a nine-hole golf course. Today, ECC boasts an expanded Club House, a Donald Ross designed eighteen-hole golf course (1917), eleven grass, ten clay tennis courts, three paddle tennis courts, three pickleball courts, and a full size swimming pool. All of these amenities are located on 180 acres in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
