Glen Oak Country Club, a premier private club in Northeast Pennsylvania, is seeking a Golf Course Mechanic to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This is a vital role responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of turf equipment, golf carts, and utility vehicles to ensure optimal performance and reliability throughout the golf season and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain, diagnose, and repair all golf course equipment, including but not limited to:
o Reel and rotary mowers
o Tractors and utility vehicles
o Topdressers, aerifiers, sprayers, blowers, and small engine equipment
o Gas and electric golf carts
· Perform preventative maintenance and routine service to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
· Maintain proper sharpening of reels and blades to ensure high-quality turf conditions.
· Keep detailed maintenance records for all equipment, repairs, and parts inventory.
· Monitor and maintain fuel and fluid levels; order parts and supplies as needed within budget.
· Ensure that all equipment is safe, clean, and in proper working condition before being released for use.
· Maintain and organize the maintenance facility, tools, and equipment storage areas.
· Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to plan and prioritize equipment usage and service needs.
· Perform winter equipment maintenance, equipment overhauls, and preparation for spring operations.
· Assist with snow removal during the winter months
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a golf course equipment technician or small engine mechanic (3+ years preferred).
· Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
· Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel, gas, and electric-powered equipment.
· Familiarity with reel grinding and proper mower setup.
· Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
· Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
