Valley Brook Country Club, located in McMurray, Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager to oversee all aspects of equipment maintenance and repair for our golf course operation. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our equipment fleet while maintaining an organized and efficient shop environment.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude and experience across hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, engine repair, welding, and fabrication. INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION
Partner with the Shop Manager to improve shop organization and efficiency
Address and resolve existing equipment repair and maintenance issues
Establish and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Develop strong working relationships with the golf course maintenance team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE
Implement and manage a comprehensive equipment maintenance program
Perform daily preventative maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues
Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service schedules
Order and manage parts, supplies, and inventory necessary for equipment maintenance
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Train and educate staff on proper equipment operation, care, and safety procedures
Perform welding and fabrication as needed
Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, including lifting, kneeling, bending, and working in varying weather conditions
Communicate effectively with the Superintendent and maintenance staff regarding equipment needs and priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Golf course equipment maintenance experience preferred but not required
Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and engine repair
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
High school diploma, technical certificate, or related education preferred
Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Valid driver's license
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
