The Assistant Superintendent at The Highlands in Harbor Springs, Michigan plays a crucial role in the daily management of the Arthur Hills course. This position involves overseeing various aspects of golf course maintenance, including but not limited to fertilization, chemical applications, and team training. The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure the course is maintained to high standards, providing an exceptional experience for golfers. Responsibilities of this role also include monitoring turf conditions, irrigation systems, and pest control measures. The Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the grounds crew to execute maintenance plans effectively and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about golf course management to contribute to the ongoing success of a prestigious golf course. The Highlands is a four-season resort. We have 5 golf courses on property. Our sister resorts are Boyne Mountain and Bay Harbor golf course which also reside in our region. If you love golf, skiing or snowboarding this would make an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance
Knowledge of turfgrass management practices
Familiarity with fertilization and chemical application procedures
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to operate and maintain turf equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
