Landscape Superintendent/ Horticulturalist Profile

Big Easy Ranch, located in Columbus, Tx, is seeking its next Landscape Superintendent to lead our team to new heights. 

We are looking for a high energy, passionate individual that has outstanding leadership skills, communication skills, and the ability to make quality decisions.

Spanning 2,000 rolling acres in the Texas foothills of Colorado County lies Big Easy Ranch, the ultimate experience for outdoor sports and golf enthusiasts. Conveniently located between Houston, Austin and San Antonio, Big Easy Ranch is just far enough away from the hectic pace of city life. 

Since its debut in 2016, Big Easy Ranch has become widely recognized for its world class whitetail deer and exotic hunting, wingshooting, state-of-the-art sporting clay course and trophy bass fishing. In 2023, The Covey, an 18-hole championship golf course, opened for play. In its first year, The Covey was rated #1 NEW and top 10 overall golf course in Texas by The Dallas Morning News, followed by the #1 Best New Private Course in the Country 2025 by Golf Digest and #1 Golf Course in Texas 2025 by The Dallas Morning News. The Antler, the nine-hole par 3 golf course, both designed by renowned course architect, Chet Williams along with The Golf Academy and extensive golf practice facilities.

Landscaping Grounds highlights: 

• Lodge compound consisting of 
• 15 Acres of Turfgrass
• 5 Acres of Landscaping beds
• Including ornamental beds with 3 change outs a year
• 12 Team members in the Department
• Full management of Landscape designing on new projects
• Additional HOA department coming soon as Big Easy Ranch expands our membership
• We will continue to add team members as the department grows 

Position Reports to: 

Director of Agronomy

Position Details: 

• Manages all aspects of Landscaping on property. 
• The Landscaping Superintendent is responsible for the daily operation of the lodge grounds maintenance, projects, and management of department personnel.
• Manages  monthly and annual budget plans
• Manages all landscaping fertility and disease programs. Including Tree programs.

• Passionate individual that goes above and beyond the job description
• Promotes taking ownership of their role as a leader 
• Personality, Integrity, and accountability are of the utmost importance
• Team builder – lead by example and develop individuals into team players

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Horticulturist 
• 2 or 4 year degree in related field
• Turf and Ornamental Applicator License 

Compensation and Benefits

• 90 to 100k Salary Package
• Health Insurance 
• Uniform Allowance
