The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent works directly with the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of daily maintenance and agronomic operations. This is a hands-on leadership position with strong involvement in crew management, irrigation, pesticide and fertilizer applications, and special projects.
Assist in daily planning and execution of course maintenance
Supervise and train maintenance staff
Apply fertilizers and plant protectants in accordance with label and regulations
Monitor turf health, moisture, and environmental conditions
Assist with irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and repairs
Participate in course setup and tournament preparation
Maintain accurate records of applications and maintenance activities
Assist with equipment management and shop coordination
Works closely with the golf superintendent in not only supporting a successful crew but their own career development
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred
New graduates looking for a 2nd assistant or AIT role are encouraged to apply
Flexible start date for the right candidate
NYS pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
Knowledge of irrigation systems and turf equipment
Strong communication and leadership skills
Through understanding of the summer requirements associated with summer maintenance needs of high performing putting greens in Westchester County
Hollow Brook Golf Club is a premier golf facility located approximately one hour north of New York City in Westchester County.
