Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our agronomy team as a Spray Technician with a clearly defined career path toward an Assistant Superintendent position. This role is ideal for someone passionate about turfgrass management who is eager to grow within a high-end private club environment.
The Spray Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the health, playability, and presentation of the golf course through the safe and effective application of fertilizers and plant protectants. This position will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of golf course management, including irrigation, cultural practices, and team leadership.
Experience & Development Focus
1–3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or turfgrass management preferred
Strong interest in advancing to an Assistant Superintendent role
Knowledge of safe handling, mixing, and application of fertilizers and plant protectants
Applies fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and soil amendments according to agronomic plans
Learns and assists with irrigation system operation, including exposure to Toro systems and Rain Bird 2-wire technology
Participates in course setup, water management, and cultural practices such as aerification and topdressing
Monitors turf conditions and reports pest, disease, and environmental stress concerns
Maintains accurate application records in compliance with regulations
Assists with calibration, maintenance, and repair of spray equipment
Gains leadership experience by assisting in training and guiding crew members
Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy to all Members and guests
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
Valid driver’s license required
Florida pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe) required
