This is a full-time hourly position responsible for maintaining, performing preventative maintenance and repairs on grounds equipment and the golf cart fleet.The mechanic must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow safety procedures.FLSA Classification for this position is Non-Exempt.
Requirements
4 years’ experience in small engine repair
Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
Excellent computer and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Job Responsibilities
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
Perform all routine and preventative maintenance to golf course equipment daily
Perform equipment repairs as needed efficiently and effectively
Ensure that all equipment is always clean and ready for operation
Maintain daily communication with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
Enforce proper safety standards in the maintenance shop
Must be able to use various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and precision measurement tools (calipers, etc.)
Grinding, sharpening, and set-up of all bed-knives, reels and rotary blades
Maintain the confidentiality of company and employee information
Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
Clean and apply lubricants, replenish fluids and components to engines and machinery components
Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle user
Record keeping of equipment use and maintenance performed
Assist with course maintenance when asked by Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
Stay current with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
Requires contact with others (face-to-face, telephone, e-mail)
Requires moving around, bending, twisting, stooping, standing, kneeling, crouching, upward reaching, and repetitive movement
Requires using hands to handle, control, and feel objects, tools, or controls
May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 50 pounds
Requires working indoors and outdoors
