The Head Golf Course Superintendent at Halla Greens Golf Course in Chanhassen, MN is looking for an energetic employee to join the Halla Greens management staff.
The Head Superintendent is responsible for the overall management, conditioning, and presentation of the golf course and its associated grounds. This role ensures that playing surfaces meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability while supporting an exceptional golfer experience. The Superintendent leads all agronomic operations, staff management, and long-term course improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily maintenance and agronomic practices for all playing surfaces, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaped areas.
Develop and implement comprehensive turf management programs, including irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and cultural practices.
Manage, train, and supervise maintenance staff; foster a positive and professional work environment.
Prepare the golf course for daily play, junior leagues, academy classes and lessons, and special events, ensuring consistent playing conditions.
Develop and manage the departmental budget, including labor, equipment, supplies, and capital improvements.
Maintain and operate irrigation systems; monitor water usage and promote environmentally responsible practices.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, labor, and environmental stewardship.
Coordinate with the General Management staff to align course conditions with courses goals and customer expectations.
Oversee equipment maintenance and replacement planning.
Plan and execute short- and long-term course improvement and renovation projects.
Work Environment: This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and may involve early mornings, weekends, and holidays to meet course and event demands.
Degree or certification in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of turfgrass species, soil science, irrigation systems, and modern maintenance practices.
Ability to manage budgets and analyze operational data effectively.
Commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and best management practices.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain Minnesota Department of Agriculture non-commercial pesticide applicators license category A & E within 60 days of hire.
Halla Greens is a 9-hole Executive course in Chanhassen. We host multiple junior leagues, ladies leagues, two indoor simulators, and a robust golf academy. GolfTrack Academy is the management company that oversees all operations at this facility and works closely with all staff to ensure a positive and successful operation.
