The Assistant Superintendent helps the Superintendent manage daily course maintenance, supervision of grounds crew, irrigation repair and maintenance, application of chemcials/fertilizers, helps maintain equipment, manages records, and acts as the Superintendent in their absence.  This position requires strong turf knowledge along with hands on experience within the turf industry.

•  Supervises and participates in maintaining all golf course areas.
     
•  Directs, trains, schedules, and manages the maintenance staff.
       
• Implements fertilization, pest control, irrigation, mowing schedules, and scouts for disease  and weed pressure.
     
•  Oversees repair and maintenance of all golf course equipment on a daily basis.
       
• Maintains accurate chemical/fertilizer records, daily weather, personnel, and budget control.
       
• Sets up the golf course for daily play, tournaments, and or other special events as they arise.
       
• Must have experience in applying chemicals and fertilizers is of high importance.
       
• Understanding of golf rules, eqtiqutte, and course markings.
       
• Ability to perform duties safely and to the highest standard.
       
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
       
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, agronomy, and pest/disease control.
       
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining golf course equipment and irrigation systems.
       
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
       
• Acts as the Superintendent in their absence, making decisions and managing operations.
       
• Must have the ability to take written and oral instructions.
