The Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment and tools. Manages the procurement of parts, maintains accurate records, and supervises team members in his/her area. Collaborates directly with the Director of Agronomy and their assistants to ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards and adheres to preventive maintenance routines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on all golf course equipment, including diesel, gasoline, and electric-powered vehicles, mowers, rollers, and utility equipment.
• Maintain all cutting units and reels in optimal sharpness and performance according to course standards.
• Manage and execute a preventative maintenance program within budget constraints, including ordering necessary repair parts and supplies.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to departmental standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Check and replenish fuel and oil daily.
• Supervise, train, and provide direction to other team members working in or around the shop.
• Foster an environment of teamwork and communication.
• Place safety as a top priority in all shop and field operations.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and training to the Agronomy team (in partnership with the Leadership Team) on proper equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Conduct on-course spot checks to assess equipment performance and address emergency repairs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ensure safe, efficient, and correct operation of all equipment.
• Complete repairs and maintenance tasks promptly and accurately.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Wear designated uniforms properly during all work hours.
• Immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents to supervision.
• Keep a clean, hazard-free shop and equipment area.
• Perform fuel and oil checks prior to daily equipment use; refuel and clean equipment at the end of each use.
• Exhibit professional behavior and proper etiquette when in the presence of members, guests, and staff across the property.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: Previous experience in golf course equipment maintenance is required; prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret service manuals, instructions, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of various golf course maintenance equipment.
• Certifications: Formal technical training or certifications in turf equipment maintenance are preferred but not mandatory.
• Other: A basic understanding of the game of golf is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and operating mechanical equipment.
• Exposure to various weather conditions.

Construction of the first course, named "Mackenzie," is currently underway and is expected to open to members in the fall of 2026.
