Bedford Golf and Tennis Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our agronomy team. This position is ideally suited for a recent turfgrass graduate or an individual looking to take the next step in their golf course maintenance career within a high-end private club environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents in all aspects of golf course maintenance and daily operations while developing the technical and leadership skills necessary for long-term success in the golf course industry.
This is an especially exciting time at the Club, as we are currently working with the Fazio Design team in preparation for a comprehensive golf course renovation scheduled for 2028. Planned improvements include new greens, tees, bunkers, fairway enhancements, and a full toro irrigation system replacement. The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable experience not only in daily golf course operations, but also in the planning and preparation stages of a major golf course renovation project.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with daily golf course maintenance and course setup.
Supervise and work alongside seasonal staff and crew members.
Learn and assist with irrigation scheduling, hand watering, and system troubleshooting.
Assist with fertilizer and pesticide applications.
Monitor turf conditions and communicate observations to management.
Support ongoing course improvement projects and renovation planning efforts.
Qualifications
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
