Position Overview
Brentwood Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our high-performing agronomy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for turfgrass management and a desire to advance in the golf course industry. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of daily maintenance, long-term planning, and leadership of the golf course maintenance operation.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising daily maintenance tasks

Train, lead, and motivate a crew of 20+ team members

Monitor turf health and assist in pesticide/fertilizer applications

Operate and manage Rainbird irrigation systems

Ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices

Help execute major agronomic practices such as aerification, overseeding, and topdressing

Scout for disease, pest, and irrigation issues and report findings

Participate in budget management, record-keeping, and equipment oversight

Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, crew, and other departments
Qualifications

2- or 4-year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum of 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience

Ability to obtain a California Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) within 6 months

Strong irrigation troubleshooting skills and a working knowledge of turf equipment

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
