Salary: $75,000+ Incentive bonus

Position Overview

Brentwood Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our high-performing agronomy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for turfgrass management and a desire to advance in the golf course industry. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of daily maintenance, long-term planning, and leadership of the golf course maintenance operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising daily maintenance tasks

• Train, lead, and motivate a crew of 20+ team members

• Monitor turf health and assist in pesticide/fertilizer applications

• Operate and manage Rainbird irrigation systems

• Ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices

• Help execute major agronomic practices such as aerification, overseeding, and topdressing

• Scout for disease, pest, and irrigation issues and report findings

• Participate in budget management, record-keeping, and equipment oversight

• Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, crew, and other departments

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum of 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience

• Ability to obtain a California Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) within 6 months

• Strong irrigation troubleshooting skills and a working knowledge of turf equipment

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
