Jonesboro Country Club (JCC), a private, member-owned full-service club in Northeast Arkansas, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations. JCC features an 18-hole championship course that is a core part of club life and a major point of pride for our membership. We are proud to be part of the Arkansas PGA Stroke Play Championship rotation, and our course conditions are held to a high standard.
In addition to golf, JCC offers robust year-round amenities and engagement through tennis, pickleball, aquatics, and a vibrant calendar of social events. The successful candidate will play a critical role not only in maintaining excellent playing conditions but also in supporting the broader member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of all golf course maintenance including greens, tees, fairways, rough, bunkers, practice facilities, and irrigation systems.
Lead, train, and manage a team of 8–10 grounds crew staff.
Develop and execute turf management programs, including aerification, chemical/fertilizer applications, and seasonal maintenance schedules.
Monitor course conditions and proactively address issues like drainage, pest control, and disease prevention.
Prepare and manage annual agronomy budget; track labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
Coordinate with the General Manager and Board to support club events and ensure exceptional playing conditions.
Maintain a strong presence on the course, building relationships with staff and members.
Qualifications:
Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent at a private or semi-private facility.
Arkansas pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain quickly).
Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
Experience managing Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass in a transition-zone climate is highly desirable.
Proficiency with irrigation systems, ideally Toro or Rain Bird.
