Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, one of Florida’s premier private club communities, is seeking a Head Mechanic to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment maintaining championship-level golf courses and state-of-the-art equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engine equipment,
Repair and provide all required preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with Course Maintenance Department.
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner
Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and repairs
Manage parts inventory, shop supplies, and ensure the maintenance facility is clean, safe, and organized
Train and supervise assistant mechanics and equipment operators on proper equipment use and care
Coordinate with Golf Course Superintendents to ensure equipment readiness and performance
Able to repair and maintain all golf course equipment.
Educational Requirements
Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair or mechanics preferred.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a golf course mechanic or similar role
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic and repair skills
Experience with Toro or John Deere equipment preferred
Ability to operate and maintain reel and rotary cutting units to precise standards
Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
