The Legacy Golf Club is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position. As the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Superintendent in various aspects of managing the crew and daily operations of the golf course. You will assist in coordinating and supervising the maintenance activities to ensure the course is in top condition. This includes overseeing the crew, equipment operation, and irrigation systems. Your attention to detail and knowledge of turf management practices will be essential in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and playability of the course.
Moreover, you will be responsible for monitoring the course conditions, identifying turf issues, and implementing corrective measures. Collaborating with the Superintendent, you will develop and execute maintenance schedules, apply fertilizers and chemicals as needed, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role requires strong communication skills to effectively delegate tasks, provide training to the crew, and interact with golf course members and vendors.
This role offers a hands-on experience in golf course management and provides opportunities for growth and skill development in the turf industry.
Minimum of 2 years experience in golf course maintenance
Knowledge of turf management practices and irrigation systems
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a team environment and alone
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with equipment operation and maintenance
Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in golf course management
Willingness to obtain necessary certification, such as pesticide applicator license
