The Ford Field and River Club was once a winter retreat home for Henry Ford in the 1920’s. It serves as home to over 270 members. The Ford Field & River Club features a premier Pete Dye-designed championship course with two distinct nine-hole challenges: the front nine is designed around 250 acres of freshwater lakes, and the back nine resembles a great Scottish links-type course, with holes placed among the Club's original rice fields. The Ford Field and River Club is a private sporting community of elegant homes, incredible natural beauty, and extraordinary amenities, 18 miles southeast of Savannah in Richmond Hill, GA. The property consists of 1,800 acres along the Ogeechee River and includes an 18-hole Pete Dye-designed golf course, a deep-water marina, a golf clubhouse, an equestrian center, a fitness center, three Har-Tru tennis courts, two pools, and 10 miles of hiking trails. The Main House is the focal piece of our sporting club community, which was built in the 1930s and served as Henry Ford’s winter estate home.
When famed golf course designer Pete Dye completed The Ford Field and River Club Course, he proudly proclaimed it his “Finest Southern Links.” The unique golf course features a parkland-style front nine and a links-style back nine, giving players the experience of playing two courses in one. Renovated in 2014, the course has received high praise from national publications such as Golfweek, Golf Digest, and Links Magazine.
The Ford Field and River Club is nationally recognized as #97 Country Club by Platinum Clubs of America.
