Position Overview The Golf Course Maintenance Internship provides an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in turfgrass management, agronomy, or related fields. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance and management — with a particular emphasis on managing bentgrass greens — while working alongside a team of experienced turf professionals.
Responsibilities - Assist with daily course setup - Performdaily monitoring of course conditions, including hand watering and providing valuable input to make necessary daily adjustments to maintain the highest quality playing surfaces. - Fertilizer and chemical applications including utilization of GPS sprayers. - Assist in numerous small drainage and irrigation projects - Utilization of both Rain Bird and Toro irrigation components - Participation in daily meetings pertaining to scheduling and planning of maintenance tasks.
Qualifications - Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related program - Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail - Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
