As the Director of Agronomy, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf course maintenance and clubhouse facility maintenance. Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and management team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall success and smooth operation of the golf course. Your duties will include developing and implementing maintenance programs, overseeing turf management practices, managing the maintenance budget, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for staff management, training, and providing leadership to ensure the team meets high standards of performance and professionalism. Your role will also involve collaborating with vendors, managing equipment inventory, and ensuring the overall aesthetics and playability of the course are maintained to deliver an exceptional experience for members and guests.
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in golf course maintenance with a focus on agronomy
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
In-depth knowledge of turf grass varieties, irrigation systems, and pest control methods
Ability to develop and implement maintenance programs
Experience managing budgets and a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance in a golf course environment
Meadowbrook Country Club was established in 1954 with the first nine designed by Press Maxwell. Donald Sechrest came in 12 years later to design and implement the back nine. The Club is privately owned and continues to play as a private Country Club with a men's and women's full Locker Room facility, Swimming pool and full service lunch and Bar.
