Assist the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendent with all phases of golf course maintenance for a 27 hole facility. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling of maintenance crew and all activities from daily routine maintenance to project work. This position will be involved with the construction of an additional nine hole course.
Irrigation management both in the field and from the central control computer to maximize turf quality and manage the efficiency of the water usage. 18 holes have been recently renovated which includes all new irrigation.
Application and supervision of the application of fertilizer and pesticides. Scheduling of applications around golf calendar and following the agronomic plan and seasonal requirements. Calibration of equipment and training and supervision of applications. Calculations of products based on desired rates and acreages.
Work with equipment mechanics to ensure the equipment is being used properly and safely while coordinating schedules.
Interaction and communication with members and residents as well as other departments.
Purchasing of materials and equipment used to maintain the golf courses.
Prior golf course maintenance experience at a 2nd assistant or crew foreman level or higher.
Quail Creek is an active adult resort community in southern Arizona. It features 27 holes of golf with plans of continued development and the addition of more golf.
