The Alotian Club, located in Roland, Arkansas is currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent to join our team. The primary role of the Assistant Superintendent is to support the Superintendent in overseeing daily golf course maintenance operations. In Season: Monday–Friday (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM), working every fourth weekend unless a tournament is scheduled
Off Season: Monday–Friday (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), working every fourth weekend

Greens: A-4 Bentgrass
Tees, Approaches, Collars: Zeon/Cavalier Zoysia
Fairways and Rough: El Toro Zoysia
Irrigation System: Toro

Support daily operations and team leadership
Maintain high-quality turf and playing conditions
Assist in ongoing staff development and team culture
Begin preparations and planning related to upcoming irrigation system renovations
Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:
Assist in managing all aspects of course maintenance
Lead and train crew members, ensuring effective and safe practices
Monitor turf health and maintenance scheduling
Contribute to record-keeping, budget tracking, and planning
Collaborate with the Superintendent to execute long-term agronomic goals
Essential Functions:
In conjunction with the Superintendent; directs and oversees staff in daily activities, monitoring quality and ensuring procedures are followed
Serves as liaison between staff and management
Supervises training programs and ensures proper documentation
Manages IPM program, including pesticide/fertilizer applications and records
Assists with interviews and evaluations
Coordinates specialty equipment use and development
Oversees pump stations and infrastructure
Administers onboarding and safety programs
Maintains greens data (speed, firmness, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
Assists with irrigation system maintenance
Supports grounds crew as needed
Attends professional development events
Recommends procedural improvements
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Certificate in Turfgrass Management (required)
1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of irrigation systems, turf practices, and equipment use
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain pesticide license
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $56,000 annually
