Seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to replace our outgoing manager. Rivers Edge is an 18 hole public course located in the heart of beautiful Bend Oregon. We have new ownership dedicated to elevating the status and conditioning of the course. Some new equipment has been purchased and a 5 year plan is in place to continue turning over the rest of the equipment. The shop is a professional environment with all the nescesarry tools/equipment.
Under the direction of The Golf Course Superintendent the Mechanic works independently in the repairing and maintenance of various gasoline and diesel powered golf maintenance equipment.
1. Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment.
2. Inspects diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.
3. Works to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
4. Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed.
5. Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment.
6. Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected; and performs related tasks as required.
7. Keeps up with preventative maintenance schedule, i.e. oil, grease, air, gas, etc.
8. Inspects equipment on course.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Course Superintendent, i.e. mowing, equipment operation.
Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
* Two years of equipment repair experience.
* Valid Driver’s License.
* Requires a working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
* Requires a mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical tools.
* Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
* Maintains a clean and safe work environment, as well as a well-organized parts inventory.
* Requires adhering to proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids.
* Requires daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment.
* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in
following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
* Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
* The employee is at times exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, of moderate cold, and extreme heat.
* The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and motorized equipment vibration.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
