The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will coordinate with the Superintendent on the daily operation of the grounds maintenance team. Assist in the management of irrigation and pesticide application on playing surfaces. Lead crew members day to day on objectives and monitor work completed.
Maintain all golf course grounds - Greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and native areas.
Lead group work and track completion of daily tasks.
Coordinate with the Superintendent on golf course agronomics and chem/fert planning.
Schedule staff member’s daily/weekly work assignments.
Monitor playing conditions and communicate with the superintendent and pro shop staff.
Staff training and quality control of completed tasks.
Manage water outputs using the irrigation system and hand application.
Application of pesticides and management of IPM strategies.
Must be hands on in daily work and leadership.
Requirements:
2 year degree in Turfgrass Science and Management or related field.
2+ years of golf, landscaping or horticulture
Must hold a current Ohio pesticide applicator license, or have the ability to obtain within 90 days.
