Blue Hill Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our dynamic grounds management team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow within the golf course industry. The previous Assistant Superintendent was recently promoted to a role at another Concert Golf property in Florida, showcasing the unique growth opportunities available within our organization.
Club highlights:
Staff: A total of 20 in season
Typical work schedule: (Hours can vary)
In-Season: M-F, 5am - 1:30pm with afternoon watering until 3-4pm. One weekend day a week from 5am -3-4pm.
Off-Season: M-F, 6am-1pm and coverage for snow removal when needed
Grass Types: Poa/Bent on greens, tees, and fairways. Blue, Rye, and Fescue rough
Owned and operated by Concert Golf Partners, Blue Hill continues to invest in its facilities with consistent capital improvement projects. Recent and planned upgrades include:
2023 Bunker Renovations: Sand removal, drainage repair, and new sand installation on the main golf course.
Irrigation Upgrades: New irrigation controllers and central control using Lynx software.
Pump Control System: Scheduled replacement in Winter 2024.
Future Enhancements: Major tree removal projects and tee and bunker renovations planned for the Challenger and main courses over the next two seasons.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in managing daily operations of the grounds crew to ensure the course meets the highest standards of playability and aesthetics.
Supervise, train, and mentor staff on turf management, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
Collaborate on turf health management, including irrigation, pest control, and nutrient applications.
Utilize Lynx software for irrigation programming and adjustments.
Participate in project planning and execution, including enhancements and renovation
Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance plans as needed.
Preferred Requirements:
A degree or certificate in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field is preferred but not required
1-3+ years of experience in golf course maintenance
Massachusetts pesticide applicator’s license or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Passion for delivering superior course conditions and a willingness to take initiative.

Compensation & Benefits
$75,000 - $85,000, depending on experience
