Oversee and manage all aspects of nine-hole golf course and clubhouse operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Recruits, supervise and retain golf course maintenance and clubhouse staff; conduct employee performance evaluations and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the golf course maintenance team, ensuring the grounds are properly cared for and maintained.
Oversee clubhouse operations and activities for members and guests, ensuring an excellent experience.
Manage and coordinate contracted golf professionals for lessons and clinics.
Manage retail pro-shop, food and beverage operations at the golf course, ensuring quality, efficiency and profitability.
Oversee the safe and compliant application of chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides) on the golf course, adhering to all relevant regulations.
Manage all maintenance-related expenses for the golf course, including supplies, chemicals, and fertilizers.
Develop and manage the golf course's annual operating budget.
Prepare a 5-year capital budget plan for golf course improvements and maintenance.
Establish and implement policies and procedures for golf course operations and department practices.
Provide technical, operational, and safety training for staff to ensure compliance with OSHA, club safety protocols, and state and federal regulations.
Oversee the maintenance team in the safe use and upkeep of mechanical and power equipment, plan and budget for equipment needs and replacements.
Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
Utilize an electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, golf management, hospitality or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course and/or clubhouse operations management, including grounds maintenance and event services.
Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated experience recruiting, managing, and training teams, with a strong track record in employee development, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
Knowledge of Turf and Grounds Maintenance: Comprehensive knowledge of turf management, landscaping, and golf course care practices, including the application of fertilizers and pesticides.
Budgeting and Financial Acumen: Proven experience in preparing, managing, and adhering to operating and capital budgets.
Clubhouse or Hospitality Management: Familiarity with clubhouse operations, including food and beverage service management, membership relations, and events.
Regulatory Compliance: Experience in maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations on grounds maintenance, safety practices, and chemical usage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery, as well as electronic systems for time management and scheduling.
Customer Service: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and enhancing member and guest experience.
Computer Skills: Intermediate end user of MS Office: Word, Excel. Social Media marketing.
Certificates & Licenses: Missouri State Pesticide License or willing to obtain in a specified period.
Valid Driver License.
