The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Activities would include assisting in the budgeting, developing agronomical plans, scheduling and implementing daily activities such as course setup, cultural practices, chemical and fertilizer application and calibration, irrigation problem solving and repair, and leading projects in construction, renovation, and enhancements. This a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for leading, directing, overseeing, assisting, and training the staff.
Experience and knowledge in golf course maintenance
Experience in leading golf course maintenance teams and projects
Familiarity with managing golf course budgets
Knowledge of pest control and their applications
Knowledge of chemical and fertilizer products and their applications
Knowledge of irrigation utilization, drainage installation and repair
Experience with construction and renovation projects
Must have Louisiana Pesticide License or acquire within 90 days
