Assistant Superintendent– Briggs Ranch Golf Club
Just west of San Antonio, Texas lies Briggs Ranch Golf Club opened in 2001. This private club was purchased in 2017 by Dormie Network. The facility has cottages totaling 60 beds. The course was designed by famed golf course architect Tom Fazio and has hosted USGA, Texas State Golf Association, and Korn Ferry Tour events in the past. Job Summary
Responsible for managing the maintenance operation of the golf course and associated grounds. Implements Landscape Management Company policies and procedures, create and monitor the operating budget, and manage the maintenance staff. Must have the ability to maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other facilities to excellent standards. Responsible for maintenance equipment and facility maintenance.
Essential Job Functions
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Directs and implements the policies and procedures established by Dormie Network.
- Supervises and manages the upkeep of the golf course property which includes the course, maintenance equipment, golf car fleet, recreation facilities, open spaces, wooded areas, and unused acreage.
- Supervises the crews completing the maintenance and project work for the course. Assists with manual labor associated with maintenance and project work as necessary.
- Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
-Hires and trains department staff on procedures and processes.
-Possess an understanding of the game of golf
-Monitors compliance with departmental purchasing policies and procedure
-Monitors the scheduling of all maintenance operations and directs work of the staff team members within the Department
-Adheres to Dormie Network policies and procedures
