Lone Palm was founded by George Jenkins, the founder of Publix Super Markets.  The course sits on a 388-acre property with a rich Florida landscape including wildlife, native plants and an abundance of ponds and lakes.  It was designed by Dick Wilson and the course opened in 1964.  It was restored by Steve Smyers in 1995 and again in 2022 when the course underwent a renovation project to include a complete rebuild/redesign of all greens, 80K linear feet of new fairway drainage, construction of new tee boxes, culvert replacements and other small projects. The club has partnered with XGD and is currently in the process of installing Capillary Concrete in all 51 greenside bunkers.  The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with
