The Course Superintendent (Greenskeeper) is responsible for the overall maintenance, appearance, and playability of the golf course and its surrounding grounds. This position is critical to the long-term success of the golf course and reports directly to the Grounds Committee Chair.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Daily maintenance and long-term care of greens, tees, fairways, rough, and practice areas
• Supervision, training, and scheduling of grounds and seasonal staff
• Adequate knowledge of irrigation systems and system upkeep
• Mowing, fertilization, aeration, and pest-control programs
• Monitoring turf health and responding to weather or environmental conditions
• Oversight of maintenance equipment, tools, and facilities
• Budget preparation and coordination with the Grounds Committee
• Course setup for tournaments, leagues, and special events
• Compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Regular communication with the Grounds Committee Chair

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in golf course maintenance, turf management, or related field preferred
• Working knowledge of turfgrass, irrigation systems, and equipment operation
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Applicator or pesticide license (or ability to obtain) preferred
About the Course and Community
Pierce Community Country Club is located in the small, rural community of Pierce, Nebraska, in
northeast Nebraska. Pierce is a progressive community of approximately 1,800 people. The golf course
is a 9 hole, par 36 course that features bluegrass tees and fairways, and bentgrass greens. With
multiple tee boxes on every hole, the course can offer a tough, but fair experience for golfers of all skill
levels. The spacious clubhouse is a great space for hosting multiple events and social gatherings. The
property also consists of five golf cart storage sheds, and one maintenance building used for equipment
storage.
