THE OPPORTUNITY
Belmont Country Club is seeking a motivated and driven Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join an engaged, forward-thinking agronomy team. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
An optimistic, self-motivated professional with a sense of urgency coinciding with strong attention to detail.
A strong understanding of the game of golf and how course conditions impact playability.
Two or more years of golf course maintenance experience with proven record of increased responsibility.
A degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Active GCSAA membership or the ability to obtain membership.
A Massachusetts pesticide applicator’s license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
Solid agronomic knowledge, including plant health, water management, and soil science.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment.
Strong communication skills and a desire to lead, learn, and advance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist in planning and executing daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
Play a key role in agronomic programs including chemical and fertilizer applications, aeration, seeding, topdressing, and course setup.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain spray and fertilizer equipment with a strong focus on safety and precision.
Supervise, train, and mentor crew members while helping build a positive, accountable team culture.
Monitor irrigation performance and water usage, supporting efficient water management and conservation practices.
Conduct regular course inspections, identify issues early, and help implement solutions.
Maintain accurate records for pesticide applications, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and long-term planning.
Be a visible leader on the course and a trusted partner within the agronomy team.
