Chartwell Golf & Country Club is looking for an experienced professional to join as an Assistant Superintendent in the greens department. This role is critical to the agronomic success and considered one of our three key leadership positions within the greens department.
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for execution of precision applications, irrigation management, staff scheduling, and daily task assignments for a crew of sixteen as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure that the course is kept in top-notch condition through effective planning, coordination, and execution. This role requires hands-on involvement in daily course maintenance activities, as well as long-term strategic planning to enhance the overall quality and playability of the course. The candidate selected for this position will be trained and mentored in preparation for the opportunity to transition to a Head Golf Course Superintendent position in the future.
In addition to maintaining pristine daily golf course conditions, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will participate in projects including drainage, dam maintenance, and a multi-million dollar irrigation system upgrade.
Associates Degree or Certificate in Turf Management
3+ years of experience in golf course maintenance
Knowledge of turf equipment, cultivation practices, and applications
