Position - Golf Grounds Intern
Department - Geneva Golf Grounds Maintenance

Property Description:
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is home to two award winning championship golf courses (Highlands / Brute) as well as the newly constructed Wee-Nip, an 11-hole Par 3 course poised to open in spring of 2026. At Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, we will tailor your internship experience across all 3 courses through different styles of engagement with a highly experienced team. This internship is a 6 month program preferably but can be altered to you and your school’s needs.
Position Purpose:
- To assist the supervisors with day to day maintenance of golf facilities to our standards in fast paced environment.
- Learning and honing skills needed to become an assistant golf course superintendent.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, implement, and execute daily course maintenance and set-up.
- Disease and pest scouting, record keeping.
- Collect critical data and record keeping used in management decisions for USGA and pushup style putting greens.
- Plan and lead small projects to completion where necessary.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizer.
- Learn and operate irrigation system. Lynx central, Toro Osmac controllers, and new two wire/Toro SmartHub system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Must have completed or be enrolled in a turf management program or related field.
- Must exhibit energy and enthusiasm for the job.
- Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop and kneel continuously while performing essential job functions.
- Must have flexible availability and able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work outside in both extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable working with mechanical equipment.
- Must be familiar with lawn mowing, weed-eating, trimming, raking, debris blowing, hand weeding, garbage/litter pick up, planting, watering, fertilizing.
- Good communicator with confidence to make decisions.
- Must work well in a multi team environment.
- Solid knowledge of the game of golf.
