Lake Forest Golf and Practice Center, conveniently located where the 5 and 405 freeways meet in Lake Forest, California, features a 9-hole executive par 29 course is situated among orange groves just west of the Saddle Back Mountains. It includes a double decker driving range and a practice area.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the product quality, agronomic management and daily maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds and driving range. As superintendent at e Forest Golf and Practice Center you will be communicating directly with the General Manager and Regional Support Team.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to Company standards
Ability and confidence to communicate challenges/issues quickly and accurately with Maintenance Team, General Manager, and Regional Support Team.
Implement the approved maintenance plan and adhere to the budget
Direct and supervise the maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand traps, bodies of water, roughs, maintenance shop and grounds, cart maintenance, and clubhouse grounds
Create and support a high-performance team while maintaining a positive, safe, and enjoyable work environment
Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff
Identify and address safety issues immediately
Conduct monthly safety meeting/training with maintenance staff
Maintain accurate records to track labor costs, maintenance expenses, projects, equipment repair, safety, and fertilizer, chemical, and pest control practices within city, state and federal guidelines
Identify, implement, and approve capital improvements
Educational Requirements
1-3 years as a Superintendent or First Assistant
Turf Certificate from accredited institution preferred
Valid Driver’s License
Pesticide Applicator License
Highly motivated individual with attention to detail
Poa/Bent Greens experience
Strong communication skills
Computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook or ability to learn
