Lake Forest Golf and Practice Center, conveniently located where the 5 and 405 freeways meet in Lake Forest, California, features a 9-hole executive par 29 course is situated among orange groves just west of the Saddle Back Mountains. It includes a double decker driving range and a practice area.

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the product quality, agronomic management and daily maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds and driving range.  As superintendent at e Forest Golf and Practice Center you will be communicating directly with the General Manager and Regional Support Team.

Responsibilities:

•  Maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to Company standards
•  Ability and confidence to communicate challenges/issues quickly and accurately with Maintenance Team, General Manager, and Regional Support Team.
•  Implement the approved maintenance plan and adhere to the budget
•  Direct and supervise the maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand traps, bodies of water, roughs, maintenance shop and grounds, cart maintenance, and clubhouse grounds
•  Create and support a high-performance team while maintaining a positive, safe, and enjoyable work environment
•  Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff
•  Identify and address safety issues immediately
•  Conduct monthly safety meeting/training with maintenance staff
•  Maintain accurate records to track labor costs, maintenance expenses, projects, equipment repair, safety, and fertilizer, chemical, and pest control practices within city, state and federal guidelines
•  Identify, implement, and approve capital improvements

Educational Requirements

•  1-3 years as a Superintendent or First Assistant
•  Turf Certificate from accredited institution preferred
•  Valid Driver’s License
•  Pesticide Applicator License 
•  Highly motivated individual with attention to detail
•  Poa/Bent Greens experience 
•  Strong communication skills 
•  Computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook or ability to learn 
•  Spanish speaking a plus
