La Cumbre Country Club is seeking a full time Horticulturist to join our Course and Grounds Team. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, health, and aesthetics of the Club’s landscape, gardens, native plantings (irrigation reduction areas) and tree collection. Working closely with the Director of Agronomy and the Course Superintendent Team, the Horticulturist supports our mission to provide a world-class golf and club environment for Members.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain and continually improve the horticultural quality, color, and aesthetics?of all landscaped, naturalized and ornamental areas across the Club’s property.
Lead the tree health management program, including monitoring, pruning coordination, and maintaining the tree inventory database.
Oversee the irrigation and lighting systems for all landscape and ornamental areas, ensuring efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
Perform pesticide and fertilizer applications for trees, shrubs, and flower beds as needed, maintaining compliance with all regulatory and Club safety standards.
Develop and manage cut-flower programs and interior floral arrangements, ensuring seasonal freshness and alignment with Club events and décor.
Assist in landscape planning and design, working collaboratively on plant selections, bed layout, and color rotation programs.
Support environmental stewardship initiatives in alignment with the Club’s Audubon Certification and sustainability goals.
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience in ornamental horticulture, landscaping, or golf-course environment.
Knowledge of local plant materials, irrigation systems, lighting systems, and pest management.
California QAL or QAC (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
Strong aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and pride in creating beautiful, sustainable spaces.
