Westchester Country Club is a 45-hole private country club designed by Walter Travis, located approximately 20 miles north of New York City and opened in 1922. Westchester has hosted over 40 PGA Tour events in its long history and most recently the Women's PGA Championship in 2015 and the the 2021 USGA Women's Amateur. Westchester features two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 9 hole par 3 executive course, 8 story hotel, grass and har-tru tennis courts, paddle and squash courts, driving range, teaching studio, 7 miles of residential roads around club, and a 67 acre beach club on the Long Island Sound. Westchester is currently working on a Master Plan for the entire club. The second assistant will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in the construction and planning for continued work on the Master Plan as well as help manage a complete 45 hole irrigation installation beginning in April 2026 . Second assistant will have a strong opportunity for career advancement within the company and will report directly to the course Superintendent.
Applicants should possess or be working towards a 2 or 4 year turf related degree/certificate
A.I.T.'s will have first priority. Recent graduates and upcoming graduates with successful internships are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Also, applicants should have the ability to work overtime and be prepared to complete a wide range of tasks related to both turf and property management. Must be motivated to advance career and have a passion for the turf business. Goal of becoming a superintendent is required.
