We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for golf course management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, ability to prioritize expectations of facilities, a deep understanding of turfgrass management, and the ability to motivate and inspire a large team to achieve excellence.

Position Details
Title: Superintendent
Reports To: Director of Grounds
Supervises: Agronomy Team
The Superintendent is entrusted with the care, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader, responsible for ensuring pristine playing conditions, environmental stewardship, and innovative agronomic practices that reflect the high standards of Shadow Valley and its membership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance and care of the golf course and clubhouse grounds, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaping.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
- Develop and implement agronomic programs for turf grass health, pest control, irrigation, and water management.
- Supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement in turf quality, drainage, playability and aesthetics.
- 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field
- Strong knowledge in irrigation systems - operations and troubleshooting.
- 3+ years of experience as golf course superintendent or 6+ years as led assistant superintendent
- Experience in the transition zone climate.
- Thrives and handles high expectations of course and self.
- Current pesticide license or ability to obtain.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
