The ideal candidate will partner with the Superintendent to direct and coordinate golf course maintenance activities, including maintaining high-quality course conditions; selecting, developing, and retaining employees; and exceeding guest expectations. Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations, ensuring cost control and efficient utilization of resources. Provides advice and coordination with the Golf Course Superintendent on any issues related to golf course maintenance. Participate actively and directly in the construction and maintenance of the grounds, ensuring they remain well-maintained and visually appealing. Administer and enforce rules, regulations, and policies for staff members, including members and guests, to provide a harmonious and professional environment. Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain fiscal responsibility and professionalism in all maintenance operations. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff members, while maintaining accurate training and performance records. Ensure the proper functioning of irrigation systems, overseeing repairs and irrigation duties to maintain course standards. Oversee and perform general maintenance tasks such as mowing, raking, blowing, mulching, sod work, aerification, and course set-up. Assist in special projects and undertake any additional duties as assigned by management.
The candidate should have a solid knowledge of turfgrass management principles, experience operating and maintaining golf course maintenance equipment, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a degree or certification in turfgrass management or a related field is preferred but not required.
