Due to one of our Assistant Superintendents moving on to take over his own club as Superintendent, a vacancy has opened on our team. Chevy Chase Club was established in the fall of 1892 by members of Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Club, who sought a country retreat where they could enjoy horses, sports, and social gatherings, away from the bustle of the growing city. In 1894, the Club secured its first permanent location on land that included the historic Bradley Farmhouse. Golf was introduced the following year with a six-hole layout, coinciding with the founding of the USGA. By 1897, the Club had purchased the 9.36-acre tract surrounding the Bradley House.
