About Brae Burn: Founded in 1897, Brae Burn Country Club is a premier private facility steeped in history and tradition, featuring 27 holes of classic New England golf, including a Donald Ross-designed Championship Course. In preparation for hosting the 2028 Women's US Amateur we are embarking on a Master Plan restoration starting in August of 2026 and seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our leadership team.
Position Overview: The Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent plays a vital role in daily course setup, crew supervision, and executing all agronomic programs to the highest standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career with tournament preparation and construction experience in a fast-paced, team-first environment where excellence is the expectation — not the exception.
Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited Too:
Assist in managing and mentoring a team of 40+ seasonal and full-time staff
Water Management/Hand watering
Calibrate and apply fertilizers and pesticides safely and accurately
Maintain and repair irrigation systems (Toro Lynx 2-wire)
Contribute to planning and executing cultural practices and project work
Participate in snow removal and winter maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field
1-3 years of golf course maintenance experience, internships included
Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to learning
