Weatherford College is launching a Golf and Sports Turf Management Program and is seeking qualified candidates to be a part of our team. Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Turf Management on Sports Surfaces - Courses will vary but irrigation, equipment, use of herbicides and other skills used in the improvement and upkeep of sports turf surfaces will be necessary in specific courses taught. Successful teaching of Horticulture, Agronomy or similar disciplines will also better suit some courses.
Required
Experience in Turf Grass Management and/or maintenance.
Preferred
Bachelors Degree or above in Horticulture, Agronomy or Turf Grass Management.
